Our newest project, Discovering our Glorious Grasslands , will be having it’s first big event this Sunday 20th May at 11am – 4pm!
Mad Meadows and Wild Woods will be a family countryside day, taking place at Eastleigh’s flagship countryside park – Itchen Valley Country Park, Allington Lane, West End. It will provide fun and interest for all the family, based on the meadows and fringe woodland. There will be traditional country crafts and skills demonstrated by local experts and plenty of opportunity to try your hand!
Other activities include bushcraft, Forest School, green woodworking, falconry, chainsaw artist, storytelling, forge work, stick makers, angling, conservation organisations and much more! You will be able to “meet the brewer” and sample his wares, and enjoy hot food whilst relaxing to traditional music. There are plenty of activities for children and dogs on leads are welcome.
This free event (although parking charges apply) is hosted by The Grasslands Trust and Eastleigh Borough Council, and supported by many local countryside professionals. We would like to invite you all to come along and enjoy the day!
